Since the founding of the Kogod Sustainability Review, the sustainability revolution has evolved from a niche group of passionate individuals united under a vision for a just and equitable world to a powerful force in action.
This third edition’s theme, Global Sustainability Conversations, Policy Perspectives, and Industry Initiatives, couldn’t have arrived at a more crucial time. We are proud to feature dynamic student submissions and research articles that are exploring the intersection of business and environmental sustainability in the United States from the electric vehicle revolution to decarbonizing the aviation industry. We also reflect on ongoing global dialogues regarding the imperative for an equitable approach to climate action by examining intricate relationships such as poverty, gender inequalities and conflict dynamics in sustainable development.
The Kogod Sustainability Review aims to bring together students, faculty and the community at large to not only reflect on these critical issues in sustainability, but to provide cutting-edge literature that can help identify solutions for the world’s most pressing challenges.
As we navigate the remainder of 2024, the climate crisis poses unprecedented challenges that will require the world to move quicky to develop long-term systems changes and mitigate transition risks towards a low carbon economy. Students and faculty across AU, from Sustainability Management at Kogod to the Washington College of Law, are exemplary of the rich perspectives and innovations needed to address the current and future sustainability landscape.
Our goal is that this journal serves as a beacon to foster dialogue and collaboration to pave the way for a better world. By bringing together diverse perspectives from policy, industry and business, we aim to showcase a holistic view of not only the challenges, but the opportunities in global sustainability.
Thank you to our contributors, reviewers and the tireless efforts of the Kogod Sustainability Review editorial team that made this edition possible. Thank you to our readers for being a part of our journey. We hope that you will continue to join us in our commitment to sustainability by embracing the unknown complexities of our time and coming together for a more resilient future.
Sincerely,
The Kogod Sustainability Review Editorial Board
