The article reports that a 2025 study by Kogod School of Business finds Tesla once again leads the pack — all five of its models rank among the most “American-made” cars sold in the US, based on the share of US/Canadian-sourced parts and final assembly location.

  • The Tesla lineup once again ranks at the very top of the list compiled by Kogod School of Business: in the 2025 edition of the Made in America Auto Index, all five of Tesla’s models are among the top six most “American/Canadian content” vehicles.

  • The study measures “domestic content” as the percentage of parts manufactured in the US or Canada—though federal law doesn’t distinguish between the two when reporting. This means “American-made” here includes vehicles with significant Canadian components.

  • The 2025 list shows greater volatility than in prior years: supply-chain disruptions, shifting sourcing strategies, tariffs, and trade-policy changes contributed to large content swings among many automakers. For example, some models from previously strong domestic manufacturers fell in ranking as parts sourcing moved abroad.
