For more than two decades, Amy K. Dacey managed prominent national organizations, advised leading elected officials and candidates, including President Barack Obama and Senator John Kerry, and counseled a variety of nonprofits and companies.

Amy K. Dacey is the Executive Director of the Sine Institute of Policy & Politics at American University and she ran the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 Presidential election.

Cynthia Miller-Idriss

Cynthia Miller-Idriss is a sociologist and professor in the School of Public Affairs and the School of Education. She has testified several times before the U.S. Congress and regularly briefs policy, security, education, and intelligence agencies in the U.S., the United Nations, and other countries on trends in domestic violent extremism and strategies for prevention and disengagement. 

Cynthia is one of the leading experts on polarization in the country and she runs the Polarization and Extremism Research & Innovation Lab (PERIL) at American University.

Betsy Fischer Martin (BA/SPA '92 and MA/SOC '96) is an Emmy-winning journalist and TV news executive. Currently, she is the Executive Director of the AU School of Public Affairs' Women & Politics Institute and an SPA Executive in Residence.

Betsy was the Managing Editor of NBC News Political Programming, where she developed the network political coverage, and the longtime executive producer of “Meet the Press with Tim Russert.”

Valentina Bruno is Professor of Finance and Arlene R. and Robert P. Kogod Eminent Scholar in Finance at American University, Kogod School of Business. Before joining American University, she worked at the World Bank in the Financial Sector Strategy and Policy Group and in the International Finance Team.

Valentina is a world-renowned economist and her research on currency has been featured on the cover of The Economist.
