Why Kogod?
Innovative, Flexible Program
The program emphasizes team-based learning, developing analytical skills through case studies, access to leaders from the public and private sectors, technology exploration, and experiential learning. The flexible delivery model of online classes and bi-semester weekend residencies offers an unparalleled graduate education that minimizes disruption to operational assignments and career progression. LGEP students will develop the strategic management and security skills needed to progress in their military careers and beyond.
Learn by Doing
Your experience will be hands-on, practical, and experiential. Classes incorporate case studies, which help students develop and utilize their analytical and communication skills to produce viable solutions to real business problems. Nearly all of the classes also include a group project, where students must navigate team dynamics, resolve conflict, and share responsibilities to successfully complete the project. We believe that students learn best when they can apply their skills and knowledge in a real-world setting. For this reason, many of the class projects involve real companies where students must analyze and recommend solutions for a real business problem.
Faculty Expertise
The faculty at Kogod include top scholars in the strategic management, security, and innovation fields as well as executives in residence who have a wealth of industry expertise and are continuously engaged with government and industry. The approach taken by faculty focuses on an experiential learning process coupled with case studies and hands-on learning techniques. This, combined with a unique hybrid learning delivery, is unparalleled at any other school in the Washington, DC, area. Access to unique resources and initiatives at Kogod will provide additional learning opportunities and skillsets for MS in Management students.
Capstone Project
The program culminates in a capstone course project which synthesizes all of the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the program curriculum. This live client project asks students to analyze a real problem that a company is facing and present their solutions to the client. The capstone project simulates the experiences that students will have in their current or future careers.
