At American University tuition is charged by credit hour and billed by semester. Below is a summary of the tuition and fees you can expect throughout your journey.

We know that financing your education is a key factor in deciding whether to pursue a graduate degree. We are here to help!
All applicants are automatically considered for Kogod's merit-based scholarships, including international students.
Your aid may include an AU scholarship or grant, federally funded grants, private loans, and/or low-interest federally funded loans.
There are more than 17 need- and merit-based Kogod scholarships for current graduate students plus 10 available to most Kogod students in any program.

Health Insurance Premiums
Health insurance is mandatory for all full-time degree, resident, and international students unless the student has comparable coverage under another health insurance plan.

*Fall Only coverage is only available to students in one-semester programs at the university. Students who graduate in December may contact AU Central in December, and once we verify your graduation, we will provide a refund. You must contact the university before December 31st to receive a refund.
+ Spouse/Partner and dependent coverage must be paid directly to Aetna once the student's enrollment is complete and cannot be broken into installment payments.
