Comprehensive Core
The MS in Analytics consists of 33 credit hours. The courses in core competencies and analytics foundations provide a well-rounded understanding of the field. You'll learn evidence-based data gathering, data modeling, and quantitative analysis, as well as how to implement these tools to provide businesses with competitive advantages. Students gain skills to work in business intelligence, financial analysis, marketing, and consulting.
Practical Expertise
To further your expertise, you'll either choose a functional specialization or a functional background. These concentrations allow you to elevate your skills in some of the most critical aspects of analytics.
The highlight of our curriculum is the Practicum Project, which gives you the chance to apply high-level analytical skills to real-world data. When you graduate, you'll leave with the practical know-how to take on that next step in your career.
STEM-Designated Program
STEM-designated programs equip students with technological expertise and leadership skills vital to the US economy. The designation also allows international students to apply for a 24-month extension of their Optional Practical Training.
Practicum Project
Gain hands-on client experience by solving an analytics problem for a real or simulated client using real-world data. Past clients include DC United, Special Olympics, Eastbanc Technologies, and Earth Networks.

Elina comes to Kogod from Thessaloniki, Greece. For her undergraduate degree, she attended Rhodes College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a finance specialization and minored in Russian. Elina was inspired to come to Kogod by another analytics student ambassador, Isabelle Wilms, who discussed the support and resources she received from the school and its faculty. Elina has a passion for finance and hopes to combine it with her analytics education for future career opportunities. Sarthak is from India, and earned his BA Honors in political science from the University of Delhi. His career goal is to become a major figure in sports analytics with a particular focus on soccer. Nhi joins Kogod from Vietnam, and earned her undergraduate degree in English teacher language education from VNU University of Languages and International Studies. With her MS in accounting degree, she hopes to become a mentor in the analytics industry. Nhi was very impressed by the support she received throughout her entire admissions journey and that she continues to receive from Kogod’s staff and faculty. “Kogod is a school that’s always on the go. Ulemu joins the Kogod community from Blantyre, Malawi, and holds both a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Finance from Rhodes University. She hopes to leverage her expertise to work in international development and to facilitate socio-economic advancement in her community and on a global scale.
