At Kogod, we develop students as strong leaders of their organizations to become effective leaders in the world.

Kogod provides targeted advising for student organizations in officer training, event planning, goal-setting, organizational behavior, and more.

Complementing the support from AU's Center for Student Involvement, business-focused student organizations receive additional support from Kogod in their management and promotion. See those student organizations below.

AU Accounting Club

The Kogod Accounting Club at American University aims to develop and support a network of students who share interest in the fields of Accounting and Taxation. Throughout the academic year, the Accounting Club will organizes a variety of events designed to meet students’ needs in areas including CPA exam preparation, career development, networking opportunities, and community service.

AU Analytics club is a club within KOGOD. It aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry. We hold socials, datathon and workshops for students to be practically prepared for the Analytics sector.

Ascend AU

ASCEND is the largest, non-profit Pan-Asian organization for business professionals in North America. Established in 2005, Ascend has grown to serve professionals and corporations across various professions and multiple industries.

Consult Your Community

Consult Your Community is a student-run nonprofit organization that empowers students to leverage their knowledge of business consulting with their passion for service. Students gain valuable hands-on experience providing pro bono consulting to minority-owned small businesses in the DC area. This organization allows students to develop real-world consulting skills, support their community, and contribute to the success of DC small businesses.

Entrepreneurship Club at American University

he Kogod Sustainability Club is an outlet for sustainably-conscious students to network, develop new skills, and make a difference in the DC community and beyond. The Club will also be an opportunity for students new to the DC area to congregate and make friends. The purpose of the Club’s activities is to contribute to the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals and the 3 pillars of sustainability.

Sports Business Association at AU

American University Sports Business Association (AUSBA) is a student organization that provides an environment for students looking to go into the sports industry with networking events and opportunities. AUSBA offers club meetings, on and off-campus networking events, and our biggest event The Sports Events Marketing Experience (SEME) Conference in the Spring. The SEME Conference is planned, organized, and executed by AUSBA members and an excellent opportunity for students to network with sports industry professionals as well as students with sports industry experience.

Student Organization of Latinos in Business (SOLAU)

The goal of the Student Organization of Latinos in Business (SOLAU) is to unite students who identify as Latinx, Hispanic, or Caribbean and those who are interested in business from a variety of backgrounds by fostering a strong sense of community and promoting cultural awareness. Through a range of events and activities, SOLAU is committed to increasing awareness of Latin American customs, international business practices, and to establish a setting that combines an appreciation of culture with an emphasis on business and entrepreneurship. Biography

Chris holds a master’s degree in higher education from the University of Michigan and a bachelor’s degree in applied psychology and global public health from New York University.
 
Before joining the Kogod team, Chris served as the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Graduate Intern at the University of Michigan's Center for Campus Involvement, where he oversaw professional and interpersonal development for students, staff, and the university community.
 

While most recently from Michigan, Chris is originally from Taiwan and lived between Taiwan, California, and Toronto growing up. Having just finished graduate school, Chris is still trying to figure out what he enjoys doing when he is not working, but video games and basketball are on the list!
