The Kogod Honors Program Mission and Vision

We provide our most talented and ambitious students with unique experiences to develop their skills and leadership potential to help prepare them for successful and meaningful careers.

  • Students take exclusive, honors-specific course sections that are designed to develop a professional mindset, collaborative problem-solving, and analytical thinking.
  • Extra-curricular programming that students utilize to enhance their leadership, communication, and networking skills.

How Do I Join?

Invitations are sent to eligible students following the Fall and Spring semesters. 

Invited students will have completed 30-45 credits and have earned a 3.5 cumulative GPA and a 3.67 major GPA.

Meet Our Spring 2023 Honors Cohort
Maisa Binotti

Maisa Binotti

Maisa is a Business Administration major with an International Business specialization from Lucas do Rio Verde, Brazil. She is the Vice President of the Brazilian Club, and is excited for their events, fairs and conferences in Boston and Tampa. When not traveling, she likes to explore D.C., go to museums, parks, and restaurants.

Lara Burgert

Lara Burgert

Lara is a double majoring in Business and Entertainment with a Music Performance specialization and Music Performance from Scarsdale, New York. She is excited about American University’s upcoming musical theatre season. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, going on walks, or getting food with friends.

 

Thao Nguyen

Thao Nguyen

Thao is double majoring in Business Entertainment with an Audio Technology specialization and Music. She is excited about learning more about music publishing. In her spare time, she loves sports and reading graphic novels. She plays soccer, table tennis, and basketball and wants to learn to ski and study Krav Maga.

Jacob Simkovic

Jacob Simkovic

Jacob is an Accounting major from Miami, Florida. He is excited to visit more museums in the D.C. area and he recently visited the Air and Space Museum. He also enjoys playing tennis in his free time.

Dominic Tenebruso

Dominic Tenebruso

Dominic is a Finance major from Old Bridge, New Jersey, and a member of American University Honors. He is excited about serving the student body as the Deputy Director of Finance of the Kennedy Political Union. In his free time, he loves watching sports and is a big Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Yankees fan.

Zoe White

Zoe is a Business Administration major from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is excited to continue exploring D.C. with her peers. If not in class, you might find her taking part in competitive horseback riding.
