The Eagle Innovation Lab
The Eagle Innovation Lab supports graduate and undergraduate students and recent alumni in launching scalable for-profit and non-profit ventures as well as innovations in the STEM fields. The program provides participants with:
- Structured, substantive guidance as they navigate the startup process;
- Access to an engaged community of founders & innovators;
- One-on-one coaching & mentorship;
- Networking, learning & growth opportunities;
- Resources and grant funding to help scale & commercialize; and
- 24/7 workspace in DMTI.
Over the course of their time in the program, participating student-founders have generated $13 million in revenue, raised $14 million in outside investment, and earned $425,000 in grants/through external pitch competitions. The Innovation Lab fosters a diverse and inclusive community: the majority of our student-founders are women and/or people of color hailing from every single school at American University. The incubator emphasizes experiential learning, accountability, and progress, preparing innovators to grow their ideas into sustainable ventures with real-world impact.
Complete our online application.
Once the form is submitted, a representative of the Veloric Center Incubator will contact you with information about pitching for admission.
Selected applicants will be invited to make a seven-minute presentation followed by a Q&A session with program leadership (pitches are not open to the community).
The preliminary determination of acceptance into the Veloric Center Incubator is made after the presentation. If you are not accepted, we will provide you with feedback to help you consider a future re-submission. All decisions about acceptance in the Incubator program are made by the Veloric Center leadership team.
Our program connects student-founders to an activated community of innovators. They receive structured coaching and mentorship to support them through the startup process, as well as access to opportunities and resources to help them scale and commercialize their ventures.
