Professor Grier's paper, "Targeted Research for Well-Being: Dissecting the Effects of Marketing on Youth of Color," explores how targeted marketing efforts aimed at youth populations have a magnified impact on Black and Hispanic youth. Though existing research has explored the effects of advertising alcohol, tobacco, unhealthy food, and violent entertainment to young people, it has previously not focused on how these effects differ by race and how they interact with other sociopolitical factors.
