Bloomberg Businessweek has ranked the Kogod School of Business full-time MBA No. 33 in the US—the program's highest position on record, and the second-largest climb of any school in the 2026–27 Best B-Schools ranking. It is Kogod's second straight year among the ranking's top risers, up 14 spots from last year. Bloomberg also ranked Kogod No. 6 in the nation for learning and No. 12 for entrepreneurship.

The QS Global MBA Rankings 2027, released one day after Bloomberg's, ranked the Kogod full-time MBA No. 40 among US programs—also a record, and the third consecutive year the program has moved up, from No. 50 in 2024.

These rankings are a reflection of what's been building at Kogod.

Unlike most rankings, Bloomberg's methodology isn't built on what a school reports about itself. Three of its four measures—learning, networking, and entrepreneurship—is built in part from surveys of recent graduates, alumni, and the employers who hire them. On every one of those measures, Kogod's stakeholders answered more favorably this year than last.

Over the past four years, Kogod's faculty have rebuilt the curriculum, infusing AI, sustainability, entrepreneurship, and "power skills"—professionalism, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.

"There's so much to be proud of at Kogod right now—standout faculty who have rebuilt what they teach, a career team that starts engaging with students before they arrive, and students who show up ready to be pushed." — Casey Evans, interim dean of the Kogod School of Business

"We know rankings are an imperfect measure, and we know they may change, but what's most important is the experience our students are getting and the impact it has on them," Evans added.

This month, Poets&Quants named Jean Remy Mizero, MBA '26, to its MBAs To Watch list. For Mizero, a CPA and now a senior account manager at Aon, the experience came down to "the professors and classmates who made two years of evenings and weekends worth it."

Career coaching begins before students arrive on campus, and it draws on deep employer relationships and a Kogod network that runs through Washington and around the world.

"Employers know that Kogod graduates are ready to contribute from day one. Remy’s success is exactly what we mean when we talk about preparing our students to turn their Kogod experience into meaningful career outcomes," said Cynthia O'Brien, executive director for career, alumni, and industry engagement.

In the classroom, Kogod's faculty combine scholarship with experience, and because the program is small, students know their professors and their professors know them. That combination is what Bloomberg's survey respondents were rating when they ranked Kogod No. 6 for learning, up 40 places in a single year, joining its No. 6 ranking for Best Professors from the Princeton Review.

To prepare day-one ready graduates, Kogod has infused AI throughout its curriculum, which led Bloomberg itself to call it the first AI-first business school. Kogod's own three-year study of its students found that the share who were asked by employers about their AI ability more than tripled between 2024 and 2026, from 12 percent to 43 percent.

The No. 12 ranking for entrepreneurship—up 43 places—reflects both what happens inside the school and its close partnership with American University's Veloric Center for Entrepreneurship. Through the center, AU students build and accelerate ventures in the Innovation Lab, participate in five cross-disciplinary innovation competitions, and invest real capital through the student-managed Michael G. Rosenberg & Family Eagle Venture Seed Fund, among other opportunities.

"For some students, entrepreneurship means launching a venture from scratch. For all of them, it means learning to identify a pain point, articulate an opportunity to create value, and take action. We’re cultivating complex problem-solvers,” said Danielle Vogel, director of the Veloric Center for Entrepreneurship.

The Bloomberg result is the latest in a run of positive rankings. One day after its release, QS ranked the Kogod full-time MBA No. 40 among US programs in its 2027 Global MBA Rankings, also the highest on record.

This spring, US News & World Report ranked the program No. 46, the highest in the school's history. And in the past twelve months, Kogod was named the No. 3 Best Green MBA in the US by both the Princeton Review and Corporate Knights.

"When the people who know us best say we're getting it right," Evans said, "that's worth listening to."
